Singleton Schreiber was recently featured in Source NM in their article, "FEMA leader overseeing NM fire compensation fund to step down, agency announces" on January 17th, 2024 which covered the departure of Angela Gladwell as the director of the federal office overseeing nearly $4 billion for victims of the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon fires caused by the federal Forest Service. The article quotes Singleton Schreiber's accusation that fire victims have waited longer than 180 days to receive offers of payment from the date the claims office "acknowledged" their claims and that FEMA had illegally waited to start the clock on payment processing until they formally acknowledged claims rather than from the date a claim is submitted.
