Brett Schreiber, partner at Singleton Schreiber, was recently featured in an article by KRON4. The article provides an overview of the filed civil rights lawsuit against Contra Costa County, the City of Antioch, and several agencies for the failure to protect O-Y, an 18-month-old girl who died from trauma allegedly inflicted by her parents despite repeated signs that she was being abused and neglected due to their drug addiction.

“We had the care providers and law enforcement failing to do the bare minimum that they are asked to do, which is just simply to report,” said Brett Schreiber, adding, "Why did CPS (Child Protective Services) continue with reunification? Why did law enforcement and care providers fail to do the most basic thing asked of them, which is just to simply report when they see indices of suspected abuse? And, we need to get answers to those questions. . . to ensure that this doesn't happen again".
