Alexander Flores, Senior Counsel at Singleton Schreiber in Albuquerque, was featured by the Marine Corps Recruiting Station Houston in their video, "Marine Corps Law Program" which was shared on November 2nd, 2020, on Facebook.
In the video, Mr. Flores shares his experience as a judge advocate and Law of War Instructor for the US Marine Corps Reserve, discussing what got him interested in pursuing the law; what inspired him to join the Marine Corps; how the experience of being a judge advocate in the Marine Corps differs from the other branches; what law students and attorneys can expect when joining Officer Candidate School (OCS) and the Platoon Leaders Course Law (PLC) ; and how the unique responsibilities and experiences of serving as a judge advocate in the Marine Corps helped him personally.
From Mr. Flores [1:33]: "There were certain responsibilities placed on my shoulders that lawyers in the civilian world don't necessarily get -- trying felony level cases in general court martials was one of those responsibilities. The experience I gained as a judge advocate in the Marine Corps was absolutely beneficial in my transition to civilian life."
