Danielle Ward Mason, Partner at Singleton Schreiber, was recently featured in the Ledger-Enquirer article, "NAACP Brings More Firepower to Fight Against Hair Relaxer Manufacturers in GA, CA and IL", which summarizes the NAACP and Singleton Schreiber's filing of more than 30 hair relaxer lawsuits in Georgia, Illinois, and California against major chemical hair relaxer manufacturers like L'Oreal and Strength of Nature.

According to the article, these mass suits accuse these companies for misrepresenting the safety of their products, that their hair straightening products are linked to an increased chance to develop uterine cancer in users, and that Black women were more likely to be negatively affected according to a 2022 study

“This is a national problem, Black women are everywhere, and the women who have been exposed to these products are everywhere," said Ms. Ward Mason, who is looking forward to working with civil justice advocates and maximizing the NAACP's and Singleton Schreiber's resources to help legislate change in how manufacturers can test their products.

“We are continuing to get the word out about this and utilizing our collective power to make changes, both judicially and legislatively".
