Brett Schreiber, Partner at Singleton Schreiber in San Diego, was recently interviewed by ABC 10News San Diego in their news segment, "New Lawsuit Against Company Responsible for Maintaining Border Wastewater Treatment Plant".

The news segment provides a general summary of the recent Imperial Beach spill, the negative environmental impacts that Imperial Beach residents continue to face, and the recent mass lawsuit filed by Mr. Schreiber on Tuesday against Veolia North America. Accusing Veolia of negligence, recklessness, and for having a history of illegally discharging pollutants from their San Ysidro plant, Mr. Schreiber is hoping to use California nuisance law to help push change.

“There is power when the people lock arms and stand up together. We hope to use California nuisance law, which stands for if you have interference of use and enjoyment of your property, you have a claim in California. We want to use that to get bad actors to change their behavior,” Mr. Schreiber said, adding, "This ongoing environmental catastrophe could have and should have been prevented if Veolia had just simply done their job. If any of us had done our jobs as poorly as Veolia has, we would all be fired".
