New class action lawsuit alleges Safeco Insurance wrongfully denied policy renewals based on misleading and false property condition reports.

SAN DIEGO, CA. – A class action lawsuits have been filed against Safeco Insurance Company, for unjustly non-renewing homeowners' insurance policies in California. The lawsuit, brought by Singleton Schreiber LLP on behalf of plaintiffs David Ginsberg and Yvonne Davis and similarly affected policyholders, claims that Safeco relied on inaccurate aerial inspection reports to deny policy renewals, leaving homeowners scrambling for expensive alternatives.

The newest lawsuit alleges that Safeco conducted flawed aerial inspections, falsely reporting issues such as algae, mildew, or mold on homeowners’ roofs. Despite homeowners providing evidence refuting these claims, Safeco refused to reverse these decisions.

A similar case was filed recently by Singleton Schreiber against Liberty Mutual for using false aerial inspection reports, despite evidence-based refutes by homeowners, to cancel home insurance. The lawsuit alleges that Liberty Mutual conducted flawed aerial inspections, falsely reporting issues such as algae, mildew, or mold on homeowners’ roofs. Despite homeowners providing evidence refuting these claims, Liberty Mutual refused to reverse these decisions.

"Homeowners who have trusted their insurers for decades are being abruptly dropped, leaving them scrambling for coverage amidst growing environmental concerns, such as fire risks," said Michelle Meyers, attorney at Singleton Schreiber LLP. "Safeco is using questionable inspections to exploit their customers into cancelling policies, forcing families into expensive and inferior alternatives."

Both lawsuits seeks damages, restitution, and an injunction to stop Safeco and Liberty Mutual from continuing these practices, alleging violations of California's Unfair Competition Law and breach of contract.
