Toyota's Pre-Paid Maintenance Plans: Not the Deal They Promised
Millions of Americans purchase vehicles and corresponding service packages from Toyota every year. Unfortunately, we believe that Toyota is selling pre-paid packages under the guise that they are more cost-effective than paying for services as needed, when that may not be the case. If you are a Toyota customer who purchased a ToyotaCare Plus maintenance plan, you may be entitled to compensation.

Savings Plans That Don’t Add Up
Toyota promotes its ToyotaCare Plus maintenance plans as significant cost-savers. The plans are meant to cover all scheduled maintenance on the vehicle for a set number of years or up to a certain mileage and are purported to save customers hundreds of dollars. However, we believe Toyota exaggerated the value of the plans and sold them under the false premise that they were a lower-cost alternative to paying for each scheduled service individually at the time of service.
If you fit the following criteria, you may be eligible for compensation:
- Purchased a ToyotaCare Plus maintenance plan at any time since October 2020
- Purchased the plan within 90 days of purchasing a Toyota vehicle
Background
Case details
On February 5th, 2024, Singleton Schreiber filed a lawsuit alleging Toyota greatly misrepresented the cost savings of maintenance plans to consumers. Our lead plaintiff, Teresa Solis, purchased a 5-year/55,000-mile package for $1025 (valued at $1900). She experienced maintenance that was being skipped or performed ahead of schedule, as well as bills that came out to much less than Toyota’s valuation.
Ultimately, Ms. Solis discovered that the services covered by the plan would only have cost her $800-$900 if paid out of pocket. She also incurred interest on the plan since it was packaged into her car loan.
This situation may mirror the experiences of potentially hundreds of others. If you or someone you know purchased a ToyotaCare Plus maintenance plan, we encourage you to take action by filling out a form. We are determined to obtain justice for anyone affected (either through the courts or arbitration) and hold Toyota accountable for its false, fraudulent, and misleading statements to consumers.
