Michelle Meyers is a member of our fire litigation, public entity law, and personal injury and wrongful death divisions. A seasoned trial attorney, Ms. Meyers is the former lead in-house defense counsel of the tragic Ghost Ship warehouse fire, which resulted in the deaths of 36 people in Oakland, California. She has spent her career litigating complex civil matters arising from personal injury, mass torts, civil rights, and insurance coverage in federal and state courts and has tried numerous cases to verdict. 

Before joining Singleton Schreiber, Ms. Meyers served as a deputy attorney for the State of California Department of Transportation and as supervising trial attorney for the City of Oakland. In addition to serving as lead counsel on a wide range of civil litigation matters, she advised and mentored attorneys, provided policy analysis, and advised on government tort claims and processes.Ā 

Ms. Meyers earned a degree in political science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law.Ā 

She is the recipient of The Recorder’s award of ā€œLawyers on the Fast Track: Top Forty Lawyers Under Forty in Californiaā€.Ā Ā Ā Ā 

Ms. Meyers is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California and Nevada and the U.S. Supreme Court.  

Outside the office, she enjoys spending time on the sports field with her husband, three children, and two crazy border collies.Ā
