Aisha Kakar is an Associate Attorney who specializes in wildfire litigation. She currently represents victims of the 2021 Dixie Fire, 2020 Zogg Fire, 2019 Kincade Fire, and the 2017 Thomas Fire. Aisha has helped many individuals recover losses through insurance claims and litigation against Pacific Gas & Electric.
Ms. Kakar is admitted to practice in California state and federal courts and is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association. Ms. Kakar graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in political science and graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Kakar found in great interest in social justice work; in addition to earning her Juris Doctorate, she also earned her certificate from the Center for Law and Social Justice Program. Ms. Kakar was a member of the Pro Bono Honors Program and interned at prominent nonprofit organizations including ACLU of Washington, YWCA of California, and the Unemployment Law Project. Ms. Kakar also served as a legal extern for the Honorable Judge Eric Lucas and the Honorable Judge Carol Schapira. After graduating law school, Ms. Kakar worked with victims of domestic violence and complex family law issues. Ms. Kakar continued her dedication to social justice work as she began representing students with disabilities and advocated for the implementation and reinstatement of special education rights and services for students with developmental disabilities. Most recently, Ms. Kakar utilized her diverse background to implement strategic and effective business operating contracts and agreements for private companies and facilitated all legal matters to ensure compliance with state and local regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act. Ms. Kakar’s diverse career reflects her sincere motivation for social justice and protecting those who have been wronged, which is why she is passionate about advocating for wildfire victims.
Outside of work, Ms. Kakar enjoys hiking, and loves discovering new trails; a Pacific Northwest girl at heart, she has always enjoyed scenic trails and waterfall views. Ms. Kakar also enjoys spending time with her family and being the fun Aunt to her 10 nieces and nephews.
