Overview
Domenic Martini is Senior Counsel in Singleton Schreiber's Personal Injury and Wrongful Death practice group, where he has built a reputation as one of San Diego's most effective trial lawyers against powerful public entities.
Domenic's practice centers on catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases, often against cities, counties, and state agencies. He is appointed Liaison Counsel for the 2024 San Diego Flood Litigation, representing more than 700 victims who lost homes and loved ones in the catastrophic January 22, 2024 flood caused by the City of San Diego's failure to maintain its flood-channel infrastructure.
In Joseph Lopez et al. v. City of San Diego, arising from a fatal pedestrian collision on a City street, Domenic led a six-week trial that ended in a hung jury voting 8-4 for plaintiffs before the City agreed to a $4.8 million settlement. Other results include a $24 million settlement for a woman with burn injuries, a $3.125 million settlement for a cyclist with a traumatic brain injury, a $1.253 million verdict for a woman who fell through a second-story floor, wrongful death settlements of $8 million and $7.666 million in utility-caused wildfire matters, and a $1.5 million pre-litigation settlement in a spinal fusion case. He has also defeated design-immunity motions for summary judgment in cases against the City of San Diego and secured settlements against the State of California on the eve of trial.
Domenic is a recognized leader in the San Diego plaintiffs' bar. He serves on the Board of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, where he co-chairs the NLD Committee and sits on the Events, Education, Government Relations, Strategic Planning, and Membership committees. He is an Associate of the Enright Inn of Court and a leader in the San Diego Inn of Court. He has been named to the Lawdragon 500 Next Generation list in both 2024 and 2025, recognized as a Law360 Rising Star in Environmental law, and included in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for multiple consecutive years. He has won the Elite Trial Lawyers Rising Stars (2026) and nominated for the USD Law Alum of the Year award.
Domenic holds a degree in political science from the University of Memphis in his home state of Tennessee. He moved west to attend the University of San Diego School of Law, where he competed in Vienna, Austria, as part of the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (VICAM) team, and published an article titled "International Regulatory Entrepreneurship: Uber's Battle with Regulators in France" in the San Diego International Law Journal. He is admitted to practice in California and Washington.
An avid Memphis sports fan, Domenic also enjoys hiking, biking, and rock climbing, with a goal to visit every U.S. National Park.
